Ksamil, known as 'the Pearl of the Ionian Sea', this small and tourist coastal town, a few kilometers from Saranda, is a place where nature and tradition coexist in harmony and intoxicate visitors with tourism. A sea of blue waters, islands that look more like islands in the middle of the Caribbean, which can also be reached by swimming, clean beaches with good facilities, bars and restaurants, all in an atmosphere of tranquility and hospitality, which assures us the Albanian tradition.

What to do in Ksamil
Nothing like renting a boat or a boat and sailing to the four islands of the coast, to spend a day in one of its lonely beaches and enjoy a restaurant specialties such as fresh fish and Ionian seafood, or mussels from the lagoon of Butrint and the meat that arrives directly from the local producers. This in terms of what we like most in summer, sea, sun, beach and good food. But there is much more.
You can visit the Archaeological Park of Butrint, World Heritage of Humanity according to UNESCO, a site where you can see representative ruins of each of the stages of its history. From prehistory, through the Greeks and Romans, dominated by Byzantium and later occupied by Venice until the Middle Ages. In Butrint we can see a Greek amphitheater, remodeled by the Romans, the baptistery, the cathedral, the Lion's Gate, and an interesting museum. Approaching the city of Saranda is also a good option, as it is one of the most important tourist centers of the Albanian Riviera off the island of Corfu.
And there is another corner that you can not miss, the Blue Eye or Syri i Kalter, a natural space of crystalline waters, a kind of deep lake that creates the illusion of an eye, with the center of dark color as the pupil, and the blue water that looks like the iris. 45 meters deep, a place that in the communist era in Albania, was reserved for the elite and remained outside the general public. The blue eye or "Syri Kalter i" as it is known in Albania, is located right next to the road linking Saranda and Ghiorgnzzati.

The best time to travel to Ksamil in Albania is from May to October, where you have a pleasant climate or warm weather and only moderate precipitation.
